Give us a brief synopsis of what your company does.
AR Solutions (www.arsolutionsinc.com) collects past due receivables for their clients. AR Solutions also has a niche division that specializes in medical collections. With our knowledge of insurance and medical billing it makes us very successful explaining that to the consumers. We take a unique approach to collecting for our clients. We are able to collect with urgency while, at the same time, and preserve our client’s reputation as well as the dignity of the individual we are collecting from. This philosophy is very successful. Currently, AR Solutions is collecting an average of two to three times the national recovery percentage.
What do you think makes you different from other companies similar to yours?
Our philosophy on how to collect and the customer service we provide to our clients. We are able to customize collection processes as needed by each client. Given all the complex laws we have to negotiate, it is a constant learning process to operate in business and be successful. We ALWAYS have our clients best interests in mind to insure that we uphold their integrity, professionalism, and reputation. There is not a college curriculum to teach the collection business, so it is all learned from experience, seminars, continuing education, etc.
What do you like about doing business in Omaha?
The great people of Omaha!
What kind of community organizations/groups is your business involved with?
American Collectors Association, Nebraska Collectors Association (past president and currently on the Legislative board), and I’m member of First Free Evangelical Church.
What is your business philosophy or mission statement?
Our value statement is very simple: If you have integrity, nothing else matters; if you do not have integrity, nothing else matters. Our mission statement is: We exist to provide the most professional, ethical, and innovative collection solutions for our clients.
What changes have you seen in the industry and your company in the past few years?
There is not enough space in this magazine for the changes in the collection industry in the past few years. It is an ever-evolving, moving target. We make it a point by being on the legislative board with the Nebraska Collectors Association to have the latest industry law, trends, and information. Nationally, the collection industry has been working closely with the Consumer Financial Protections Bureau (CFPB) to get a complete understanding of the industry, and they have been very receptive of the industry knowledge and using it to draft the new regulations.
What do you see happening with the business in the next five years?
I see more need for agencies like ours to recover past due receivables for businesses to keep them viable. 2020 was VERY hard on a lot of small businesses and without collection agencies recovering their past due receivables it would be substantially more difficult for them.
What has been your most important achievement as a business?
Providing a great service for all our clients. As I look back to 2005 when I founded AR Solutions, it still amazes me how far we have come in 15 years. We started with two employees in a 130-square-foot office space and now have 12 employees and an attorney on staff, as well as a legal team to support them.
What is one goal for your business that you have yet to accomplish?
To continue to grow and leave a lasting impression on the collection industry. Also, to show the positive impact collection agencies infuse back into the economy.
