Zach Dice’s family has been in the telecomm business for three generations, but he really got interested in the industry when he started his first job cleaning refurbished phones for his dad’s company.  This led him to a career with Media Integrators as an entry level technician doing cabling jobs. He eventually went on to start his own company, Dice Communications, which is a service-oriented organization that installs infrastructure cabling and voice and data networks across the United States.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? –  Finding qualified service engineers around the nation.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Continuing to expand Dice Communications while maintaining a debt-free company.

Tell us a little about your family. – I am married with a daughter and a son.  My wife and brother both work at Dice with me.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I spend time with my wife and kids.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I originally wanted to be an ophthalmologist and I failed public speaking.

What are you the most proud of? – I strive to maintain a healthy work life balance.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – I have received a lot of great advice over the years.  My uncle Jim always told me that if I want to be successful I have to surround myself with successful people.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish? – We are growing very fast right now so my goal is to continue to make sure that every employee in the company feels involved in what we are doing and where we are going.

What are your plans after retirement? – Professional golfer.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Be a stronger public speaker.
