Tell us a little about your business. – Hamilton Business Technologies (hamiltonisbusiness.com) is an MSSP assisting businesses with anything they may need assistance with in the world of technology.
How did you get started in the business? – I started my career at Hamilton after working in the C-suite of a large central Nebraska bank. That lead me to technology, and when I was looking for a partner in my career path Hamilton was an easy choice!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – In my prior position I wore many different hats. I found it hard to manage everything to my expectations. I learned that Perfection is the enemy of progress!
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – The successful contract completion of a large contract for Internet Banking Services. It challenged me and really helped me develop my skills.
Tell us a little about your family. – My two young girls aged 2 and 4 are my wife and I’s world. My wife is a dedicated stay at home mom and we both love to spend time as a family.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My biggest turning point was my job transition. I went from wearing many hats and being a jack of all trades. Now I dedicate time to Cybersecurity and can ensure my work product is exactly what I expect.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – My favorite pastimes always include the outdoors. I love taking camping trips with my family and fishing for Walleye in Kansas.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was not professionally trained in Cybersecurity. I trained myself watching videos every morning before work and developed a strong Cyber background.
Who inspires you? – My parents. Not only were they wonderful parents, but their guidance has helped me navigate the new developments in my career.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “There is a difference between Ignorance and Stupidity. Ignorance is not knowing in the first place, Stupidity is knowing and choosing another path.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Flying! No more frustration in traffic!
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Deescalating situations to bring calm. It brings me joy to be able to bring a group together.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Play the guitar.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Teaching. I have a passion for education and love to provide my knowledge to assist others.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am a member of my Local Historical Society and I am dedicated to educating on our shared history.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Bobiverse Series.
What is your favorite movie? – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
