Tell us a little about your business (in your own words) – At Batten, (battentl.com) we rent and lease trailers, and we recently opened a sister company, Batten Asset Management Company (BAMCo), where we’re now offering trailer repairs and fleet maintenance programs. It’s exciting because we’re growing fast and offering more value to our customers.

How did you get started in the business? – I started working part-time in the shop during college and ended up really enjoying the hands-on work and fast-paced environment. Eventually, I moved into a full-time Mobile Repair Technician role while finishing up school.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – I am currently a full-time employee and part-time college student, so juggling my studies and my job has been challenging.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Becoming one of the go-to techs for mobile service calls and gaining the trust of senior team members has meant a lot. It shows me I’m on the right path.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Getting hired at Batten and realizing I could build a career doing something I enjoy was a huge turning point. It gave me a lot of direction.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Go horseback riding with my dad or go golfing with friends.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I can ride horseback and have been on many trips through the mountains on horseback.

Who inspires you? – My mom. She’s one of the hardest working and kindest people I know.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Work hard in silence. Let success make the noise.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Reliable.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – BRAINSTEW – Green Day

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? – Teleportation—would make mobile calls and fun vacations way easier (and faster).

Which talent would you most like to have? – I wish I could speak multiple languages fluently. That would be super helpful when working with people from all over as well as traveling.

What is your favorite movie? – Shawshank Redemption

What is your favorite TV show? – Yellowstone

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – Block 16. The food is unreal.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Johnny Cash. I think he would have stories to tell.
