When a friend of his who had been trying to get him into the Financial Services business for 12 years joined Farm Bureau, Shane Myers decided it was time to make a change in his career path and started the process to become a licensed agent.  Shane takes pride in building lifelong relationships with his clients as a Farm Bureau Financial Services agent.  His first priority is to take care of their needs and simplify insurance for them.  He is very confident of their products, pricing and most importantly their customer service.

Becoming a father was definitely the biggest turning point in my life!  Being responsible for another life made me realize how important every decision we make is.  Their unconditional love fills my heart every day.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I enjoy golfing, playing Wii with my son and spending time with my family.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
Prior to the insurance business, I worked for many years building and remodeling golf courses. I loved all the different places that I got to experience from that.

What are you the most proud of?
My kids and to see how many changes happen from day to day.  When I come home and they both come running to see me screaming “Daddy!”, I know that my day can’t get any better!

To not worry about things that are out of my control and to focus on things that I can change or improve.

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
I would love to grow my business to a point of building our own office space.

It would be awesome to be able to read people’s minds.  I would always know where I stand with people if I had that power!

What are your plans after retirement?
My wife and I love to travel, so retirement would be a lot of traveling.  Of course, there would be a lot of golf in there, too!

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
With my prior career in grading and golf course construction, I can operate just about every piece of heavy equipment made.  It is also more fun when it’s not your source of income, either!

The Natural or The Hangover

What is your favorite TV show?
Gold Rush

What is your favorite local restaurant?
For lunch, Buffalo Wild Wings.  For dinner, 360.
