When Scott Heese saw the need in the market for a higher-end Christmas lights within the holiday lighting industry, he developed Holidynamics and began designing and producing to fill that need. Holidynamics is a designer, manufacturer and professional full service company of holiday lights. They help their customers develop their own unique design for their home or business. From the product install, removal and storage, they take the stress of the holiday decorating from their clientele.
Tell us a little about your family.
I have an awesome family. My 8-year-old daughter Chloe has an identical personality to mine, so we are constantly on the go. My significant other Becky and her three children, Alex, Ashley, and William, make up our busy household.
There is never a dull moment.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Graduating from college and making a career decision: following a passion or following something I studied. I chose passion.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
My most favorite thing to do is any type of outdoor activity with my family.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
That I have a very creative side. I actually design 90% of all our products from just an idea to a finished good. Oh yeah, and I have no “off season”.
What are you the most proud of?
The products we design and produce. It is nice to see customers stop in our showroom and appreciate all of our unique designs.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Surround yourself with good people. I used to think that I could accomplish all the company’s tasks on my own. I quickly realized that you will never be able to grow your business without having talent around you.
What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
I think I am currently doing it. Following and enjoying my passion while creating a festive work environment. How could you not enjoy walking into a Christmas light showroom for work every day?
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Travel at the speed of light. The flights to China and back would be much more enjoyable.
What are your plans after retirement?
Travel abroad and discover different cultures and ways of life.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
I would say being creative. 90% of our products I have created by first sketching the designs out. Sometimes even on that “napkin”. The business doesn’t just run based off of creativity.
Which talent would you most like to have?
I would enjoy being somehow musically talented. I would like to be able to play the drums.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
My favorite books would be the series from Vince Flynn. His books are fast paced and go from page one. Kill Shot was my favorite.
What is your favorite movie?
I enjoy all types of movies. I prefer a drama or something suspenseful.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
You will probably find me at Charleston’s at least once a week. You can never go wrong with their prime rib.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
Santa Clause of course.
