Tell us a little about your business. – At U.S. Cellular, we want every customer to have a great wireless experience. We have a valuable rewards program that recognizes customer loyalty and flexible Shared Data plans to meet the needs of customers and businesses. Our strong lineup of cutting-edge devices, which includes the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Moto X, is backed by a high-speed network that has the highest call quality of any national carrier. Furthermore, U.S. Cellular was named a J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Champion in 2012 for the second year in a row.
How did you get started in the business? – I was 18 and thought it would be good to work for a cellphone company, hoping for a free cellphone. Once I started to work at U.S. Cellular 13 years ago, I quickly realized it was a great career opportunity. I love working for U.S. Cellular. I was a retail wireless consultant, sales manager and store manager before I became the area sales manager for Nebraska and southwest Iowa three years ago.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I was privileged to win a Coach’s Award at U.S. Cellular. It is an award based on what the people who work for me think about my performance as their leader and the culture I foster. I enjoy helping them every day and in their careers, so it is an honor to know that they feel that I am doing a good job.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Shopping and hunting for the best deals.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am a die-hard Iowa fan! I am from Des Moines and receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in communications with a minor in business.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Passionate
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down” by Puff Daddy
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Time travel, since I spend a great deal of time in the car.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Singing! I love to sing, but am terrible at it.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Pharmaceutical sales
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I just finished The Hunger Games. I loved it!
What is your favorite movie? – The Notebook
What is your favorite TV show? – Sons of Anarchy
What is your favorite local restaurant? – Baby Blue
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Oprah Winfrey. I think she is brilliant. I would love to get advice from her.
