Meet Ramsey Williams, Senior Technician at Langer Electric (langerelectricne.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – We are a small, family based electric company with big values and wonderful customer services. Our services include, but are not limited to, repairs, maintenance, estimates, fixture installation, panel updates, boat lift electrical, marine electrical and basement finishing.
How did you get started in the business? – A really good conversation. I met Chris Langer through a mutual friend and he helped me out on quite a big with a house I had recently gotten. Through that process and a conversation I got out of the animal field and jumped into the electrical.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – In the electrical field, I would say heights. I am not very tall so being up high is not comfortable, but I have gotten a lot more relaxed in the last seven years.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Switching careers and being successful at it.
Tell us a little about your family. – I come from a loving family. Four brothers and one sister and my parents were married till death did them part for 47 years. We were raised with strong family values and a passion to succeed.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – That moment I saw my daughter come into this world; ‘til this day there’s no way to explain the feeling I had other the amazement and unconditional love.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Relaxing with my family, friends, animals and or by myself at times. Roller skating when I have time.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I lettered in marching band in high-school playing the trumpet.
Who inspires you? – I strive to surround myself with inspiring people daily. But, a person who inspires me is my brother Robert. He is a strong-minded man that stands up for what he believes in and values family. When I need a true opinion or some guidance I know who to call.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – My father once said, “Mark my word! What goes around comes around, you brought that on yourself!”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Loyal.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – James Brown’s “Super Bad.”
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Reading people’s minds.
Which talent would you most like to have? – Singing, drawing.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Electrical code book.
