Meet Kristin Huber, Associate Attorney at McGill Law (McGillLawyers.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – I practice Family Law and all that it entails, whether it be for a divorce or a modification of an existing order.

How did you get started in the business? – I recently transitioned to Family Law after working with the Douglas County Attorney’s Office for 17 years, where I specialized in Juvenile Law and Board of Mental Health. With a passion for justice and advocacy, I have spent my career helping families navigate the legal system during some of their most difficult times.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Starting in a new area of law mid-way through my career has been a big, but good, challenge.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have three teenagers at home, two of them being twin boys and a chihuahua, named Bruiser. Bonus points if you get the reference.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Becoming a parent was a pivotal moment in my life. It reshaped my priorities, routines and perspectives in a profound way. It increased my personal growth and instilled a deeper understanding of what love is.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy being with my children and watching them live their best lives.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am SCUBA certified and have been scuba diving “at the end of the world” in Cabo.

Who inspires you? – I take a lot of inspiration from those in my life that I would like to emulate in one respect or another.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – I did not come this far, only to get this far.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Fair.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – I don’t really have a theme song per se, but my favorite song right now is “Springsteen” by Eric Church.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I would love to have the ability to stop time. There never seems to be enough time.

Which talent would you most like to have? – I wish I was more creative, and I wish I could be a singer and songwriter. That seems like such a cool and rewarding experience.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would love to be a Singer/Songwriter.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am passionate about the Nebraska Humane Society and Project Harmony. Basically, I am passionate about protecting those who cannot protect themselves.

What is your favorite movie? – Dazed and Confused.
