Meet Josh Bart, Regional Operations Manager at Tommy’s Express (tommys-express.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – Tommy’s Express is a next generation express car wash at the forefront of technology and innovation, allowing washing to be conveniently a part of regular vehicle maintenance. This is more needed than ever as vehicles have become, on average, the second largest investment in peoples lives.

How did you get started in the business? – When the first Tommy’s Express location opened in Nebraska in 2018, I was the site manager in charge of maintenance and operations. Since then, we have rapidly been expanding in Omaha, Lincoln and rural towns. My role has equally evolved to oversee the maintenance and operations of the region.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The supply chain restrictions from 2020-2022 due the impact of Covid-19.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Being a part of an organization that is growing from a few sites to a nationwide footprint.

Tell us a little about your family. – Both my wife and myself are from Nebraska. Our families are from Nebraska. We met and started dating at UNL and have been married for nine years. We have two daughters ages three and one. There is plenty of excitement in our lives with the girls.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Joining the Marine Core, serving active duty for five years. This gave me the discipline, skills and training to be the person I am today.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Take my daughters to the park or the pool.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am particular about my Bourbon.

Who inspires you? – My dad.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – One of my high school coaches would tell me, “Anything worth doing is going to take time.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Face Everything and Rise” by Papa Roach.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Super speed.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I feel a huge benefit of the position I am in is using my talents on a daily bases.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – A position in the military.
