Meet Joseph Suchanic, the Clinical Director at Ellie Mental Health -La Vista (elliementalhealth.com/locations/la-vista).
Tell us a little about your business. – At Ellie Mental Health in La Vista, we’re committed to providing accessible, compassionate care that meets people where they are. As Clinical Director, I’m passionate about fostering a welcoming environment for clients and supporting our talented team of therapists.
We offer a range of services, including support for veterans, couples, families and individuals navigating challenges like anxiety, relationships or personal growth. Rooted in compassion and authenticity, we aim to make mental health care approachable, impactful and even a little fun.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My most important professional achievement is creating spaces where people can heal and grow, but it’s deeply intertwined with my personal life. I’m incredibly proud of the family my spouse and I have built—a family rooted in love, respect and a celebration of individuality. Our thriving marriage, based on mutual growth and honor, is my greatest joy and a testament to the power of care and understanding. The lessons I’ve learned professionally and personally fuel my passion for helping others foster connections and create relationships and communities grounded in love, respect, and genuine appreciation for one another.
Tell us a little about your family. – My family and I moved into Nebraska a year and half ago. My wife, two daughters and son moved from Montana. We love the outdoors, swimming, our Church family and love to have fun with each other.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – When graduating High School I went to trade school and got my degree in Automotive Technology. I worked in the automotive field for many years before becoming a therapist.
Who inspires you? – I would have to say it is my mother and my Pastor from Pennsylvania. These two people have been there for everything in my life and truly have a heart for people.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Impactful. I want to be remembered as being Impactful not only in my professional life, but in my personal life also. I want to leave a legacy of intergrity and great IMPACT on those I came in contact with.
What is your favorite movie? – I think I may be dating myself a little, but the movie The Outsiders has been the best movie ever.
What is your favorite TV show? – I am kind of a nerd when it comes to certain things. My favorite show is The Big Bang Theory. I would also have to mention runner up is Frazier.
What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – I would have to say it is 801 Chophouse downtown Omaha. I am a big steak guy
