Meet Erik Terkelsen, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Holidynamics, Inc. (holidynamics.com)

Tell us a little about your business. – Holidynamics, Inc. is a designer, manufacturer, and supplier of commercial-grade holiday lighting and décor. We work with theme parks, zoos, botanical gardens, cities, event spaces, holiday lighting installers and designers all across the United States and Canada. We also have divisions within our company that focus on residential and commercial lighting and décor installation, catalog and drop-ship. We manufacture everything from clips and cords to C9 bulbs and tower trees. We supply our customers with the core products as well as custom items. We believe that our collective imaginations are the only limitation we have to creating or building anything. Our retail showroom is located off of I-680/Irvington Exit in Omaha, Nebraska.

How did you get started in the business? – I joined Holidynamics, Inc. in 2014. My best friend, Scott Heese is the owner of the company. He was looking to expand the company and asked me join him in the journey. It’s been an amazing experience. I have enjoyed being able to meet people all across the world. It feels like every day is Christmas at Holidynamics!

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I was a cell center executive for the majority of my career. The most important achievement was growing a small account into a major portion of our company’s overall revenue ($50M)

Tell us a little about your family. – I come from a large extended family in Omaha. Lots of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews! I have an amazing wife, son and daughter. They are very supportive of my career and love the holidays just as much as I do.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Becoming a father is the biggest turning point in my life. There hasn’t been a more rewarding role that I have had in my entire life.

Who inspires you? – My family inspires me. They are my motivation! I wouldn’t be where I am today without my family in my corner.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind! Life is short and I strive to have a positive impact on others.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce. I have been a volunteer with the organization since 2015. I have held the role of Chairman of the President’s Club (volunteer sales group) and have been honored to receive the Chairman’s Circle Award 8 times and the Chairman’s Award of Excellence. I feel that it is important to support the community in which you live and conduct your business. The Greater Omaha Chamber has done a lot to attract new businesses to our city as well as support and promote the growth of existing businesses.
