Meet Emily Clear, a Managing Editor and Coordinator at Strictly Business (strictly-business.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – Strictly Business is a local news and direct marketing magazine in Omaha and Lincoln. We are all about branding names and faces because people like to do business with people they know, like and trust. We are proud of our reputation as a reliable and positive publication and grateful for the opportunity to promote so many amazing local businesses and organizations in print and online each month.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – At this point my most important achievement is my recent graduation from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.

Tell us a little about your family? – I am the oldest of four children with two brothers and one sister. I grew up in a small town in Minnesota where my parents still live. My youngest siblings are twins and they will be going off to college in the fall and the oldest boy will be graduating college in the spring. My extended family is spread across the country so no matter what region I travel to I won’t be too far from them.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – In the summer going to the lake is my favorite thing to do on a day off.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten is from my basketball coach growing up, “practice makes permanent.” I think that this applies to every aspect of life not just sports.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Going back in time, not to change any of my experiences, but to be able to relive my favorite moments.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – One of my hidden talents that I do not utilize often is slalom water skiing. I started when I was five years old and don’t get to do it as much since moving away from home.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Right now I enjoy painting in my free time and it is something that I would love to be naturally talented in.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would like to own a restaurant one day and have all of my favorite family recipes on the menu.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The last really good book I read was The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller.

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – My favorite local resturant in Omaha to get a quick bite is Lina’s Mexican Restaurant or Stella’s Bar & Grill.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Austrian Archduke Archduke Franz Ferdinand because I love learning about WWI or Julius Caesar.
