How did you get started in the business? – I took an audiology introduction class as a freshman in college and really enjoyed the class, as well as the audiology staff at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Finding the balance between working and raising a family.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – To have a career that is not only enjoyable but also rewarding.
Tell me a little about your family. – My husband, Kurt, is an IT manager and an avid golfer. We have 3 children: Kate is 14, Jordan is 12, and Jack is 8. We also have two dogs.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Having a family changes everything!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy spending time with my family, helping with school activities, and attending sporting events.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – That I have a twin brother. Also, my family provides a foster home for dogs rescued by the Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska.
What are you most proud of? – My children! Whether it’s getting good grades, scoring in a game, or showing kindness to me, each other, or a friend, they are always giving me reasons to be extremely proud of them.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Trustworthy. I always want to be someone that my family, friends, co-workers, and patients can trust.
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – To be able to know the truth about anything. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know the truth behind crime, government, the past, the future, and the afterlife?
Which talent would you most like to have? – To be able to speak many languages. I would love to travel to foreign countries and be able to speak the native language.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – A professional golfer. They get to travel to fabulous places and enjoy the outdoors, beautiful weather, and amazing scenery.
What is your favorite movie? – The Shawshank Redemption
What is your favorite TV show? – Friends (even the reruns still make me laugh!) and NCIS as I definitely enjoy a good murder mystery.
What is your favorite local restaurant? – Stokes and Oscars
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – God for my serious side, but I think someone like David Letterman would be fun. Imagine the stories that either of them could tell!
