Meet Aaron J Newell, CEO at AR Solutions Inc. (arsolutionsinc.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – AR Solutions was founded to provide the most professional, ethical and innovative accounts receivables collection solutions for our clients.

How did you get started in the business? – Like most professionals in the debt collection space, I “fell” into the opportunity. While in college I worked as an auto mechanic and autobody technician, so when I graduated I had little to no professional network in the legal field. I took a job preparing legal documents for a local collection agency. The owner “took me under his wing” and taught me the business.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Keeping up with the ever changing governmental regulations and making changes on the fly.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Being able to be in business from a startup to almost 20 years later and realizing a minimum of 15% growth year after year.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my wife, Jori, for 26 years, we have three girls. KiLee is finishing up her second year at UNL, Kassie is a junior at Wavely High School, and Khloe is an eighth grader at Waverly middle school. We also have two labs, Ranger is a yellow lab and Ruger is a chocolate lab.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Having children.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love traveling, I try to get to the Caribbean as often as I can.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am working on getting my private pilot’s license.

Who inspires you? – People who are honest, have integrity, are true leaders and genuinely care about people.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – I have several but the one that sticks out the most is, “The only risk you regret taking is the one you never took.”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Integrity.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “You’ve Got to Stand for Something” by Aaron Tippin.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Being in multiple places at the same time.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Playing a musical instrument. I have tried learning to play the guitar several times but it never seems to stick. Or speaking multiple languages.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I read a lot so that is a tough one but the last two books I listened to that that were quite profound were Outlive by Petter Attia and The Alchemest by Paula Coelho. Neither book has to do with leadership which is what I normally read, but they both were quite impactful.
