Meet Randy Baylor, owner of Stretch Zone Legacy.

Tell us a little about your business.Stretch Zone (www.stretchzone.com/locations/legacy) offers one-on-one assisted stretching, helping individuals overcome pain and regain their bodies natural range of motion. Our highly trained, certified stretch therapists work with clients to meet specific goals and improve overall quality of life. Your only job is to relax, breathe, and enjoy your stress-relieving stretch. We do all the work, you get all the benefits! We are located in the Shops of Legacy at 16920 Wright Plaza.

How did you get started in the business? – As I’ve aged, I’ve come to realize the importance of stretching to function normally and minimize pain and soreness. When I discovered Stretch Zone and experienced the relief I felt after just one stretch, I knew I had to find a way to open one in Omaha. After working with the amazing corporate team in Florida, I opened Nebraska’s first Stretch Zone in late March. The response from Omaha has been outstanding, with over 220 members and growing!

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Overcoming a back fracture and lumbar fusion. I’ve had to work even harder to take care of myself, to strengthen my core, and to stretch daily to regain my natural range of motion. As an active duty fire fighter, it’s important to keep my body in shape and to be ready for anything.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – While I have always been proud of my profession as a fire fighter and promotion to captain, I consider introducing Stretch Zone to Omaha to be my most important professional achievement. I love helping people, and getting to see our clients work through pain and injury and towards their mobility goals is a dream come true.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’ve been married 15 years to my beautiful wife Christina, and we have three great children, ages 12,10, and 7. They enjoy everything from baseball and basketball to competitive dance. Our happy family lives in Elkhorn.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to golf, watch movies, and take the family water skiing.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Caring.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – To fly, of course!

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I was fortunate enough to be a Big with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands. It’s an amazing experience to be a mentor to the younger generation. Investing in our youth is so important! My wife and I also do foster care with Christian Heritage. Their mission is to prevent abuse and neglect, protect children, and restore family. We are humbled to be a part of this impactful effort.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I love The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher!

What is your favorite movie?A Cabin in the Woods.

What is your favorite TV show?Better Call Saul.
