Tell us a little about your business. – Caretech (caretechinc.com) is a homecare provider who services seniors and disability population across multiple states including Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Wyoming. With the implementation of my role, Caretech is expanding services to assist those with various levels of developmental disabilities.
How did you get started in the business? – Before joining Caretech team, I was a Developmental Disability Service Coordinator for state of Nebraska for 5 years. I wanted to expand my comfort zone and elevate my leadership skills through taking on a new role that Caretech provided. I have grown so much since starting with Caretech. I look forward to continuing to grow with Caretech.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My biggest professional achievement has been the launching of DD program for Caretech. I’m proud of the knowledge that I have to get this project up and running to serve our vulnerable communities. It helped that I have coworkers who supported me through this project journey.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have 4 sisters, all within 7 years of each other. My husband and I have been married for almost a year now. We have lived in Omaha our whole lives and love living in the Midwest. We have a 2 year old corgi named Diamond. Since I got married, I have gained 10 nieces and nephews. I absolutely love being an aunt!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – My favorite thing to do on my day off is to take my dog to the dog park in Downtown Omaha. I also love to read whenever I can.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” —Thomas Jefferson.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – My theme song would be On my Way by Phil Collins. I am always up for adventure and meeting new people everywhere I go. This songs always puts me in a happy mood and walk in nature.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I read a lot of self-development books, but my favorite book is Twelve Pillars of Success: The Skills You Need to Succeed. This book really changed how I view success and how to expand my leadership skills inside and out of my work life.
What is your favorite movie? – My favorite movie is White Chicks.
What is your favorite TV show? – My favorite show is Parks and Recreation. I relate to Leslie Knope’s level of ambition when it comes to the people she serves and always doing what is right!
What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – Rice Bowl.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – If I could have dinner with one famous person from the past, I would have dinner with Robin Williams. He was funny in all of his movies and will forever be remembered for his ability to make anyone laugh.
