Tell us a little about your business. – I am a certified business coach with ExcelEdge ActionCoach (exceledge.actioncoach.com).

How did you get started in the business? – I grew up in a family business, spent 20 years in the financial industry and multiple years running a group of businesses. What better way to combine and utilize all than to help other businesses achieve their goals.

Tell us a little about your family. – I am first and foremost a proud mom of 3. Tysen is 22, McKinna 19 and Kipton 16. All have been involved in high-level athletics. Their hard work, perseverance and drive is my greatest motivator. How can I tell them to chase their dreams if I don’t lead by example?! I grew up in a 100-year-old multi-generational business in small town Nebraska. My background growing up was as diverse as my work background in that I spent time in the outdoors, country and city life in a business.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – The single greatest turning point in my life was the day I realized the impact that growing up in a family business, that was relationship-focused, had on me professionally and personally.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to hit the gym and spend some time outdoors. At the lake or the golf course, give me all the summer sun and outdoors.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – Oddly enough, about 10 years ago I was bit by a tick that has left me allergic to most red meat, specifically beef and pork.

Who inspires you? – Outside of my kids, I am inspired always by those that face challenges or adversity and choose to rise about it and not let it define who they are.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The best advice I have ever received is “don’t expect you out of others”.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Thoughtful.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Unstoppable” by Sia.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Only because I’m so bad, I wish I could sing as well as I think I can when I’m alone in my car. HA!

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Rotary will always have a special place in my heart. I am a proud Rotarian and have been attending since I was little with my dad and grandpa.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I recently read Selling the Invisible, great perspective on how to sell the intangible.

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – I’m a huge fan of M’s Pub; again they have overcome the adversity but the food and service is always amazing.
