Tell us a little about your family.
I was born and raised in small town Iowa. I now live in Papillion, and my parents also live here. I have two children, ages 20 and 17, who have given me the greatest joy in my life! I also have a large extended family. We all know how to laugh and have a great time when we get together.
What do you see as the biggest turning point in your life?
The day I quit my career as an Accountant and became a full time business owner. That experience taught me that with every challenge there is a risk, and the bigger the risk, the bigger the potential personal achievement.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Sleep in, then relax by being on my deck or tending to my yard. Cap that off by a great meal with friends or family and that is a great day off!
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people don’t know?
That over the years I’ve enjoyed playing “Secret Santa” year round to a deserving person/family by anonymously sending gift cards, food, or cash each month. The person/family has changed over time but the intent is always the same- to make someone’s life a little fuller.
What are you the most proud of?
My children, my parents, and my brother.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
That it takes commitment and dedication to achieve success, in all areas of life. My parents taught me that from a young age and I’ve used that advice for many things, including education, sports, and business.
What is the one goal you’d most like to accomplish?
To successfully cultivate a sustainable business for my children, if they choose, or another generation of family if not.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
To be able to heal children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. No child should have to go through something so awful.
What are your plans for retirement?
Live on or near the beach in a warm-weather destination like Florida. Hopefully have some grandkids to spoil!
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
My ability to shop, I love shopping for clothes, shoes, and household decor. If I could manage a good living shopping I would do it in a minute!
What talent would you most like to have?
I would love to be a great movie actress. To be able to laugh, cry, be totally serious, or make people laugh on cue would be a lot of fun! The bonus would be playing opposite of a great actor!
