River City Six – Megan Hatch

Meet Megan Hatch, risk advisor for UNICO Group, Inc. (www.unicogroup.com)

Tell us a little about your business.

UNICO is a one-stop shop agency for employers and individuals that offers a consultative and relationship-oriented approach to the insurance process. We take pride in our expertise and know trust can’t be assumed; it has to be earned. As we earn it, you’ll begin to understand that what we value most are relationships. We find our business to be personal, compassionate, and fun. So, when we’re building a new relationship, we’re really making a new friend who we can work with to help solve problems, navigate solutions, and celebrate achievements. In my position, I focus on property and casualty insurance, and I work with businesses to review and develop their risk management programs. I’m involved with many industries, but have a niche in the non-profit, healthcare, and property sectors.

How did you get started in the business?

I started in the insurance business as an intern in college. After graduating from UNL, I started working with a national insurance carrier. Over several years, I held various roles which included property claims, recruiting, and agency owner. I recently decided to make a change and a couple of good friends referred me to UNICO. I found that the people and culture of UNICO were the perfect fit for me.
