Tell us a little about your business. – Working at Child Saving Institute (CSI) means being part of a mission that changes lives. We walk alongside children, youth and families during some of their most challenging times, offering support, hope and opportunities for a brighter future. Knowing that our work helps build stronger families and healthier communities is what inspires me every day.

How did you get started in business? – I have spent my entire professional career in the nonprofit sector and cannot imagine doing anything else. I began my career in alumni relations before transitioning into fundraising, where I discovered a passion for connecting people with meaningful opportunities to make a difference in their communities.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – A significant challenge in my career has been securing philanthropic support during times when organizations and donors were facing competing priorities and economic uncertainty. It taught me to listen carefully, build authentic relationships and clearly communicate the impact that donor support can make.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I was fortunate to be part of the team that raised $46 million for the expansion and renovation of Child Saving Institute. Contributing to a project that strengthened our ability to serve children and families for generations to come is one of the accomplishments I am most proud of in my career.

Tell us a little about your family. – My family means everything to me. My husband has been a constant source of strength and support. I feel incredibly fortunate to have children and grandchildren who bring endless joy and inspiration to my life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do. Whether I’m watching our grandkids play sports or spending the afternoon together, I treasure the opportunity to be with the people I love most.

Who inspires you? – My parents inspire me. They taught me the value of hard work and respect for others. Their unwavering support and encouragement shaped both my personal and professional journey.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – I would hope to be remembered as unflappable – no matter the situation, I try to stay calm and keep things in perspective.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Walking on Sunshine” would be my theme song because I try to bring positivity, enthusiasm and optimism to everything I do.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would be an interior designer because I enjoy creating beautiful and functional spaces.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The last book I read was The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I was captivated by her incredible life story and the resilience she demonstrated in overcoming adversity.
