All That! Boutique and Gifts sells women’s clothing and accessories, girl’s glitz and glam merchandise, infant clothing and gifts, home décor, and other unique gifts. Most of their merchandise is composed of products from local merchants. Krista Dickey is the owner of All That! Boutique and Gifts.
How did you get started in the business? – I decided to start the business with several of my friends. Without them, I don’t think I would have attempted it. They are awesome to work with and so far I am very happy with my decision.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The toughest challenge for me at this moment is balancing my professional career with my family life. I have two little children, and trying to find a balance between them and the store can be challenging some days.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Taking on the opportunity of owning my own business. It is a big step to take with a lot of risks and challenges. But I have also met several wonderful people in the process.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my husband, Brian for seven years. We have a two and half year old boy, Jacob and a nine month old baby girl, Riley.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – My life has taken a couple of turning points. The first turning point was when we started our family. The second turning point was when I left the corporate world to start my own business.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spend time with my family and take my children for walks.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have participated in several in-line skating marathons in Duluth, MN.
What are you the most proud of? – My children. They are both unique in their own way. I enjoy watching them develop and change every day.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – My mom always told me to “Do it right the first time.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Meticulous
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Super speed. It would be wonderful to have the ability to get things done super quickly.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Pediatrician
What is your favorite movie? – Pretty Woman
What is your favorite TV show? – The Voice
What is your favorite local restaurant? – Trini’s Mexican Restaurant in the Old Market.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Oprah.
