Meet Kimberly Remmereid, president of Remseal LLC.
Tell us a little about your business. – Remseal is a construction company that offers our customers quality concrete joint sealing, as well as a variety of parking lot maintenance services.
How did you get started in the business? – I have been in construction for over 20 years with my husband. We own TR Construction, Contour Construction, and Remseal.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – It is difficult to find qualified craft professionals in today’s market. With any business there are peaks and valleys such as the economy, COVID, and many other obstacles that can have an impact on your business. You always have to be able to adapt and adjust.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I feel that I am a good leader and I have made an impact on the construction industry for women in construction.
Tell us a little about your family. – I am married to my husband of 29 years, Todd Remmereid. We have three children, Kylie, Kasey, and Tyler. We also have a grandson, Kayson. We love animals and have four dogs, Rex, Marty, Bernie, and Mack.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – For me, it has been stretched over the last 10 years. I have been able to overcome tragedy, defeat it, and I have worked really hard to get on top.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to watch movies on my days off.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I love Hot Tamales candy, I collect gingerbread anything, and I graduated from high school with a super small class of 19 people.
Who inspires you? – My family members are my biggest motivators.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Cherish every moment.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Driven.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – Anything from the soundtrack on Top Gun.
Which talent would you most like to have? – It would be awesome to be able to sing.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would choose to be a flight nurse.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Keep Kids Alive Drive 25, an organization that has a mission to focus on safe driving and less distractions. This organization is very near and dear to me. I lost a family member to reckless driving, so I strongly support this organization.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I like to read anything non-fiction.
What is your favorite local restaurant? – Lo Sole Mio.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – I think it would be interesting to have dinner with Warren Buffett.
