Nouvelle Eve is a boutique themed around empowering women that has been a staple in the Old Market for 40 years.  It was founded by Kat Moser in 1973 and is currently owned by Susie Keuck.  Jill Burton is a Fashion Buyer for Nouvelle Eve.

How did you get started in the business? – Eight years ago a personal friend of Kat and I introduced us to each other.  I started out as Kat’s personal assistant and worked my way up in the company to the position I have now.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Becoming a buyer has challenged me to find new vendors, styles and the latest fashions available for Nouvelle Eve and our customers.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I believe in customer satisfaction.  Therefore, I am always striving to meet new clients and maintain loyal customers.  I want all of our customers to be proud to shop at Nouvelle Eve, so this is an achievement that I am constantly working towards.

Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my husband, Gary, for 23 years.  We have a 22 year old son and a 19 year old daughter, plus two Boxers that keep us busy.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Starting to work full time again.  It was definitely an adjustment for me and my family.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Anything outside!  Running, walking the dogs, working in my yard, or hanging out on the deck are at the top of my list.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I really enjoy cooking and entertaining.

What are you the most proud of? – Our children.  I am so proud that they have grown up to be honest, hard-working and polite adults.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Work hard, play hard.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Loyal

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Dancing Queen” by ABBA.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Never-ending energy!

Which talent would you most like to have? – I would really like to be more artistic.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Interior Decorating or Design.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls.

What is your favorite movie? – Pretty Woman

What is your favorite TV show? – Scandal

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Blue Sushi

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Barbara Metz, my mom’s mother who died when I was six months old.
