Tell us a little about your business. – We LOVE what we do and we love helping clients as well non clients understand what it is they have and how important it is to them. We want those we come into contact to know we are here to help them make financially sound decisions and make it as entertaining as possible!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – The biggest challenge for me is getting people excited about their financial security. I want our office to stand out when people speak of insurance and financial needs.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – For many years I drifted away from insurance and financial opportunities with direct sales. I hid in call centers and did not use the talents I had learned when I was in the field selling in the past. My success with Farm Bureau is simply that – it’s my success! I am bringing clients into Farm Bureau because of my hard work.
Tell me a little about your family. – My husband Jay and I have five children. We both work full time and when we are not working we operate a 22-acre produce farm and orchard in Honey Creek, IA. We are just beginners, but this year we acquired some farm equipment that would classify us as farmers. Ever heard of a manure spreader? Got one!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I think the biggest turning point in my life was when I lost my mom and dad. I now know the true meaning of family and friends, and unconditional love. I want to be the best person I can be for those I know and those I am simply an acquaintance with.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – On our day off we head to our cabin along the river. It is where we find serenity away from all the chaos that the week may have brought into our lives.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am a twin!
What are you the most proud of? – My children are some of the best people I know. They are not perfect but they are mine. They are full of love and charm; however, they are brutally honest (which I taught them!). They are constantly seeking more knowledge and love learning. They live by the rules Jay and I have set for them and show us respect for the decisions we make in our home.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Whimsical.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – We Are Family by Sister Sledge
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Nothing worth having comes easy.”
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would love to own a coffee shop.
