After graduating from Bellevue University, Chris Polito started his IT company out of his basement with no clients.  His uncle, who works for a dental practice, came to him and told him if he started the company, he had the clients who needed help.  REDiTECH, which is now 12 years old, is a managed service IT company that services and supports all PCs, servers, networking equipment, phone systems, virus and spyware, backup solutions, software solutions and consulting.

Tell us a little about your family.
My wife Nichole and I have been married for seven years, and together for ten years.  She has been part of the company for all but six months. She literally has helped in so many ways to get this company where it has gotten too.  We have a son, Gus, who is 4 years old.  He is all that a little boy should be…

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Marrying Nichole and having Gus.  Both of them have given me the drive to be a better dad, husband, and business owner.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Fly airplanes, golf, and spend time with my family.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I love to do crossword puzzles.  Go figure, but it calms me down!

What are you the most proud of?
Sometimes you overstate things, but my family, my business, and getting my pilots license.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
A friend of mine who is a Chicago business owner told me, “Opportunities only come once or twice in a lifetime, grab it when it happens and hold on.  You may never get the chance again.”

What is the one goal you would most like to accomplish?
Two, actually!  Grow the company without ever letting my clients feel like they are a number. I think that in itself is why people leave and go elsewhere, and companies fail.  2.  Get my IFR rating completed, for flying.  It is expensive and very intensive training.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Being able to see the future!  Being able to do that, you would not have made so many mistakes.

What are your plans after retirement?
I am an adventurous person.  I was in the Navy during the Persian Gulf War and was able to see the world.  There is so much out there and things to see.  I want my family to be able to see it all. So traveling will be a definite.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
I think that the reason for being able to be where I am today is my greatest talent.  I am a people person and it fit right into my company.
