Beka Doolittle came up with the idea of having a store where everything sold was pink in 2006.  It all started with having three teenage boys in the house and needing a little girliness in her everyday life. After purchasing a pink hair dryer one day, she had an ah-ha moment and realized pink was her passion. She thought about it for five years before deciding to launch the company online. Thepinkstore.com is an e-commerce store selling everything primarily pink. They offer a wide range of retail products for all ages (including men!). Their goal is to promote femininity and a cheerful outlook on life. After all, pink is a feel good color!

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Completing my BA in Finance while I worked full time and raised my boys. Of course, launching and continuing to grow my first start-up company is up there in the ranks!

Kevin McClure, 21; Chris Doolittle, 20; Derek McClure, 16; and Phoebe Doolittle, 3. If you want to know what it’s like in a blended family with teenagers and toddlers at once, we’ll have to do another story! In all honesty, I wouldn’t trade one minute of it!

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Lay on a raft in a pool, lake or ocean with a margarita, good music, and the latest issue of People Magazine or Strictly Business.
