Tell us a little about your business. – At Brookstone Meadows (brookestonemeadows.com), seniors receive care that adapts as their needs change, without requiring them to leave a familiar environment. The community offers skilled nursing, rehabilitation and long-term care, allowing residents to receive the appropriate level of support while maintaining dignity, comfort, and stability. Brookstone Meadows is guided by its mission of “Dignity in Action.”
How did you get started in the Senior Care world? – I completed an internship at an assisted living community and loved the relationships you get to form with residents. I got my start in Life Enrichment and stayed in the industry from there. At the last facility I worked at, I helped lead my team to getting the NHCA Silver Award. At Brookstone Meadows, I will be ensuring residents and staff feel valued and supported each day.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – My most important professional achievement is seeing administrators that I have mentored and trained step into rolls and thrive in their next role.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband Kory, stepdaughter Allie and I live in Fremont, NE. We have a cat named Meyrle. We enjoy sporting events, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Any day I have off, I try to spend outdoors. For me, any day spent outside is a good day. I enjoy hiking, playing sand volleyball, gardening and taking motorcycle trips as often as I can. I am a big Harley fan and will even sometimes ride my bike to work.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Fair.
Which talent would you most like to have? – I do not have any musical talent, so I wish I could play an instrument.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was interviewed for a book written by Mark Parkinson about Long Term Care called Long Term Care Success.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – It is hard to choose one favorite book. I enjoy reading mystery and thriller books.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – If I had a theme song, it’d have to be “On the Road Again” by Willy Nelson. I have traveled to Austin, TX to see him in concert.
What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – Sauced by Alfaro.
