Tell us a little about your business. – Project Harmony (projectharmony.com) is a Child Advocacy Center, which means we provide a coordinated response of protection, advocacy and healing for children who have experienced abuse. A report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds, making this work more important than ever. In 2025, Project Harmony served over 8,754 children and families. As the Director of Training and Education, I lead a team that equips professionals who work with children, as well as community members, with the knowledge and skills to recognize risk, respond appropriately and support children when they need it most. Protecting children is a shared responsibility. By increasing awareness and providing training, we help create a community more prepared to recognize concerns and take action.

How did you get started in the business? – I joined Project Harmony just over a year ago after spending 26 years in Corporate America. While I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences those years provided, it’s incredibly meaningful to now use those skills in service of a mission that helps protect and support children.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I love coaching and developing employees. Seeing someone try something new, gain confidence and celebrate their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of leadership. Some of my proudest moments have been watching team members earn promotions and move into roles they’ve worked hard to prepare for. Being part of that journey is something I never take for granted.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love being in the kitchen trying a new recipe. Food is my love language. I learned this from my mom. I enjoy having friends and family over to share a meal.

Who inspires you? – My friend Gina, the Chief Deputy State’s Attorney for Pennington County, South Dakota, is someone I deeply admire. She approaches every aspect of her life, work and family with integrity, compassion and acceptance. She isn’t afraid to stand up for what she believes in and consistently leads by example. At the same time, she has a wonderful sense of humor and knows how to find joy and laughter in life. She truly is the complete package.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Do small things with great love.” While I might not be able to change the world on my own, I can make a difference with every choice I make throughout my day.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Clone myself! Imagine how much I could get done!! Or one of me could work and the other could play!

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – I love pizza any day of the week. My family and I have been going to Mama’s Pizza for years. So it’s filled with good food and fun memories.
