River City Six – Allen Chaffee

Meet Allen Chaffee, the market president of Cornhusker Bank (www.cornhuskerbank.com) in Greater Omaha.

Tell us a little about your business.

Cornhusker Bank is a 115-year-old, family-owned, community bank serving the Lincoln/Omaha metroplex. As the market president of the Omaha market, I am tasked with client, team, and branch expansion and development for the Greater Omaha area. We officially opened our Omaha Loan Production office April 1, 2018, and I am very excited that our first full service branch in Omaha is being planned to be online late in 2019 subject to regulatory approval. Cornhusker Bank specializes and focuses on commercial, private, and mortgage banking.

How did you get started in the business?

I have been a banker my entire 20-year career, starting as an intern for the finance company arm of Top 5 domestic bank during my senior year at the University of Kansas…Rock Chalk Jayhawk! I have been lucky enough to be a banker in the Greater Omaha area for 15 years.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

Being market president for Cornhusker Bank. It’s an honor to have the opportunity and trust to bring such a great brand and company to the Greater Omaha community.

Tell us a little about your family.

I have been married to my wife, Sinead, for 18 years. We have very active 13-year-old boy/girl twins, Easton and Keara, who will be high school freshman this fall in the Blair Community Schools. I am originally from Clay Center, KS and my wife is from Platte Center, NE. When not chasing our kids around to different activities, we love to travel.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Work and relax with my family on our acreage in Blair. Also love to play golf with my son or watch my daughter play soccer.
