Youth Emergency Services (YES, www.yesomaha.org) Street Outreach Program was designed as a crisis shelter for youth and young adults who are in need of immediate services and information. YES outreach workers go out into the community and visit areas where homeless and at-risk youth tend to congregate. The team carries backpacks with emergency supplies and basic needs to be able to help while building trust, offering support, referrals and help to overcome their challenges while improving their quality of life.
At the Street Outreach Center, youth and young adults are given the opportunity to get a warm meal, take showers, do laundry, get any medical attention they may need, get help with paperwork and obtaining documentation such as drivers licenses and other forms of communication.
YES’s Street Outreach program is dedicated to supporting nearly homeless and homeless youth in Omaha, but they need your help. With ongoing struggles and hardships, many individuals are finding it hard to access basic needs like food. By donating non-perishable food items, a meal or funds to purchase items, you can make a direct impact on the lives of those in need. Together, we can ensure everyone has access to basic items they need to survive. To donate, call (402) 502-1636 or visit www.yesomaha.org.
