Autism Action Partnership (autismaction.org) is pleased to announce it was recently awarded a $50,000 grant from United Way of the Midlands for its Prosper Workforce Services program, a leading workforce development program dedicated to empowering autistic adults. This funding will significantly enhance the program’s ability to support and prepare autistic individuals for meaningful employment.
The grant will continue to enable Prosper Workforce Services to expand its services. With the unemployment and underemployment rates for autistic adults remaining high, this funding is crucial in ensuring that these individuals have the tools and resources necessary to succeed.
“This grant will allow us to reach more individuals, provide more comprehensive training, and ultimately help more autistic adults achieve their career goals,” said Marcia Prideaux, Program Director of Prosper Workforce Services.
By considering neurodiverse candidates, companies can tap into a largely underutilized talent pool. A diverse workforce is beneficial by creating a more accepting and supportive work environment.
