YMCA of Greater Omaha’s Chris Tointon Appointed to YUSA Board of Directors

Chris Tointon, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Omaha (www.metroymca.org), has recently been appointed to the YMCA of the USA (YUSA) National Board of Directors, one of only three internal Y CEO’s on a 27-member board consisting of top industry professionals from various organizations across the country. Tointon will collaboratively direct, plan, and set strategic direction and policies to help guide the YMCA’s efforts in advancing healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility in YMCA communities across the country.

Tointon also currently serves as president of the Prairie Alliances of YMCA’s, consisting of 23 Y associations across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska, and is currently a member of the YUSA Strategic Innovation Advisory Council.  In addition, Tointon has also been recently appointed to the Board of Advisors for Community Rec magazine, an industry publication and business resource for the YMCA, Jewish Community Center, and community recreation professionals across the country. With active involvement in such nationally recognized recreation industry boards, Tointon will further elevate Omaha’s already-established reputation as a major contributor within the YUSA organization.
