YMCA of Greater Omaha Announces New President and CEO Chris Tointon
The YMCA of Greater Omaha (www.metroymca.org) is very pleased to announce and introduce Chris Tointon as the next President and CEO after a nationwide search.
Chris Tointon currently serves as president and chief executive office of Greater Midland, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving youth, adults and families in the Midland, Michigan community. Tointon is a native of Illinois and came to Midland from Elmhurst, Ill., where he was executive director of the Elmhurst YMCA. He began his career in recreation and social services at the age of 12 when he became the leader of his local parks and recreation department’s t-ball program. Chris has had a variety of roles, including camp counselor, sports coordinator, senior program director, operations director and executive director of recreation organizations throughout the Midwest.
Tointon holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from North Central College in Illinois. He is a member of the Midland Kids First Executive Board, Chair of the Midland Area Community Foundation Access to Recreation Committee, and Trustee at Memorial Presbyterian Church. Chris is also involved as a member of the MidMichigan Health Planning Committee, Great Lakes Bay Regional Leadership Institute Steering Committee, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Regional Customer Advisory Panel. Tointon is a Rotarian and a graduate of both Leadership Midland and Leadership Michigan.
He will begin his tenure at the YMCA of Greater Omaha (www.metroymca.org) April 4, 2016.
