Hillcrest Health & Rehab is pleased to announce Vickie Worden, RN, was recognized as one of the top 26 nurses in Nebraska among 140 nominated, with an Excellence in Nursing award presented by the Nebraska March of Dimes on November 7th. Worden, assistant director of nursing for Hillcrest Health & Rehab and a nurse for 25 years, has worked both locally and nationally to improve patient transfers and reduce re-hospitalization rates to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. As an advocate for her patients, she strives to streamline processes for her peers and healthcare team and recently implemented “quick reference” care paths to guide nurses in providing more efficient care. Worden, who resides in Papillion, Neb., was named Nurse of the Year in 2011 by the Nebraska Health Care Association and received Hillcrest Health Service’s esteemed President’s Award in 2012, which recognizes excellence by a team member who strives to meet company goals exemplifying respect and quality care. Worden has worked for Hillcrest Health & Rehab since 2006 and previously held nursing positions for long term care communities.
