Toastmasters Honors Brenda Kucera as Toastmaster of the Decade for District 24
Toastmasters District 24 (d24tm.org) is pleased to honor Brenda Kucera of Grand Island as Toastmaster of the Decade. Brenda has been a Toastmaster since April of 2004. She joined to gain the confidence to speak up more during the virtual meetings she attended for her job, and to learn how to project her voice better. Through her dedication to Toastmasters, Brenda has achieved those goals and more.
Brenda has not only found benefits for herself in Toastmasters but has stepped up to help others. During her time in Toastmasters, she has served in leadership roles for District 24 during five different years. Brenda currently serves as VP Education and secretary for Grand Island’s Yakkity-Yakkers club. She has earned one “Distinguished Toastmasters” award (the highest level of educational program achievement) and recently completed the requirements for a second.
Brenda enjoys the camaraderie in Toastmasters and mentoring new members. She says, “I firmly believe that we never stop learning, and we can learn a lot from each other. Toastmasters is a good habit. It’s something I enjoy that is good for my self-esteem and keeps my confidence level up. I feel that Toastmasters has helped me with communication and leadership skills, making me a better employee and person.”
Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding areas are served by Toastmasters District 24, which is a grouping of 70 Toastmasters clubs and 1,100 members from Kearney to Council Bluffs, IA. Learn more at d24tm.org / www.toastmasters.org or connect on Facebook (@D24TM).
