Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC), a partner of the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership, has appointed Andrew Rainbolt as its new executive director, effective immediately.

Rainbolt, who has served as acting executive director since early March, will be responsible for facilitating the creation of new jobs and the attraction of capital investment in Sarpy County through the recruitment of new business and industry, and the expansion of existing companies. He succeeds longtime SCEDC executive director Toby Churchill, who has helped land more than 6,500 jobs and $1.5 billion in investment for Sarpy County and will now serve as executive director emeritus.

Rainbolt joined the Greater Omaha Chamber in 2008 as the Workforce Development Consultant. In 2012, he moved to the position of business development representative on the Partnership’s business attraction team. Last year, he began sharing his time with SCEDC, and in January 2015, became the organization’s business development director.

Born and raised in Sarpy County, he is a graduate of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and holds a Masters of Urban Studies in Community and Economic Development from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

The Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership, a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber (SelectGreaterOmaha.com), embraces an innovative two-state, regional approach to economic development, increasing jobs and investment in eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa by providing a full range of economic development services.
