Papillion Community Foundation Appoints New Executive Director Joe Hunter

Upon concluding a public talent search, Joe Hunter has been appointed by the Papillion Community Foundation (www.papillionfoundation.org) Board of Directors to serve as executive director. Mr. Hunter started with the Papillion Community Foundation in February 2020 in the capacity of office manager and was promoted to assistant director in July 2020. In this capacity, Mr. Hunter assisted with the development and growth of the Foundation’s impact in the local community. In December 2021, Mr. Hunter was appointed as interim executive director following the departure of Laura Schwartz.

“Joe brings talent, ambition, determination, and drive to the Papillion Community Foundation at a time when we need it most,” stated Board President Jacob Betsworth. “He will lead the many initiatives of the foundation, including the Papillion Urban Garden project as we provide nutrition to food insecure families, a place for residents to grow their own produce, and a resource for local schools to educate our next generation on sustainable farming practices.”

Mr. Hunter is committed to the mission of the Papillion Community Foundation, which is to “Identify, develop, and support programs that enhance the quality of life in Papillion.” The Foundation offers a variety of community events and programs such as Papillion Days, Winter Wonderland, the Papillion Urban Garden, Pantry for Our Patriots, and a high school internship program.
