The College of Arts and Sciences (unomaha.edu/college-of-arts-and-sciences) is pleased to announce that as of August 1, Dr. Jodi Kreiling is the new Associate Dean of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Research.

Dr. Kreiling has been a part of the UNO community since 2005, where she most recently served as the chair for the Department of Chemistry. In her two years as chair, she onboarded two new faculty members, launched science-driven celebrations and created an engaging department climate for both students and faculty.

Dr. Kreiling has made a significant impact both inside and outside the classroom. She has developed two UNO courses, and advised 23 undergraduate students, eight honors theses/projects, 11 master’s theses and served as a supervisory committee member for a Ph.D. dissertation. Additionally, she and her colleagues have secured nearly $700,000 in grant awards.

Her excellence has not gone unnoticed. Dr. Kreiling is the recipient of six professional awards, including the UNMC 2023 Mid-Career Achievement Award, the UNO Excellence in Teaching Award and the UNO Alumni Outstanding Teaching Award.

“I am really excited about this new opportunity and role within the College,” said Dr. Kreiling. “I look forward to getting to know and working with more of my colleagues within the College and University and serving in an even bigger capacity to impact the UNO community in a positive way.”
