Midwest Geriatrics Announces Benane Awejok-Akurkuch as New HR Director
Midwest Geriatrics (omahaseniorcare.org) is pleased to announce Benane Awejok-Akurkuch as their new director of human resources. Benane joined Midwest Geriatrics in 2021 and is a member of SHRM and HRAM.
Benane began working in human resources in 2007. A USAF veteran who served in Texas, Nebraska, and Kuwait, Afghanistan, she has experience in nonprofits, social services, home healthcare, and long-term care. As an HR professional, Benane gets to touch and impact many lives behind the scenes. Having worked in LTC during the COVID-19 pandemic taught Benane the depth and impact that human resources has on employees and the organization as a whole.
Benane attained her bachelors in finance and economics in 2006 from William Woods University in Fulton, MO; her associates in human resources in 2008 from the Community College of the Air Force in Maxwell AFB, AL; and her masters in human resources in 2009 from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX.
Midwest Geriatrics, Inc. is an Omaha-based nonprofit organization.
