MENTOR Nebraska’s Deborah Neary to Present at Live402 Chats

MENTOR Nebraska (www.MENTORNebraska.org) Executive Director Deborah Neary has been selected to present at this month’s Live402 Chat, a social gathering to discover your community and get plugged in. The event will be on Wednesday, May 22, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Kitchen Table Central (4952 Dodge St.). Grab a unique cocktail or snack from Kitchen Table, make a new friend, learn something new—what could be better!

Neary has devoted her professional life to the betterment of the lives of the more vulnerable populations in our community. She has 20+ years of leadership in educational non-profits, and she currently works with more than 100+ mentoring programs across Nebraska in her role as executive director of MENTOR Nebraska. Neary, a former foster parent to eight youth, is also newly elected to the Nebraska State Board of Education (SBOE) for District 8. Deborah pursued an elected position in addition to her non-profit leadership because she believes that, through advocacy and policy work, she can help lead long-term structural changes more efficiently. In both her role with MENTOR Nebraska and with SBOE, Neary works on systemic issues that insure the state is developing successful youth who are well-prepared for life and creating educational opportunities for equitable student engagement.

MENTOR Nebraska’s vision is for every young person to have the supportive relationships they need to grow and develop into thriving, productive, and engaged adults. Learn more at www.MENTORNebraska.org or call (402) 715-4164.
