The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) recently hired Sarah Skarka as its new Communications Coordinator.
Skarka’s primary duties will include MAPA’s public outreach and engagement efforts in support of the Heartland 2050 regional vision project, the Little Steps, Big Impact ozone awareness campaign and the Metro Rideshare carpool program. She will also manage media relations, internal and external communications, community engagement and public outreach efforts for the organization and various other MAPA programs.
Skarka previously served as the Internal Communication Specialist for the Kiewit Corporation in Omaha. She received her degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
