Kicks for a Cure Announces Brenda Christensen as New Executive Director

Kicks for a Cure (www.kicksforacure.org) is proud to announce the hire of Brenda Christensen as executive director. Christensen is a native of Omaha and has over 30 years’ experience in the community. She has served on numerous non-profit boards and volunteered for dozens of organizations. Christensen is active on the Millard School Foundation, The Hope Center for Kids, Junior League of Omaha, and Humanities Nebraska Board of Directors.

“Our goal for Brenda as executive director is to organize our efforts and expand our reach within the community,” says Brian Leiferman, president of Kicks for a Cure. “We are confident that her expertise will assist with the success of our mission to raise awareness and funds in support of local cancer research at Creighton University Hereditary Cancer Center and The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at UNMC for the treatment and prevention of cancer, while promoting active, healthy lifestyles.”

In thirteen years, Kicks for a Cure has funded over $4 million in local cancer research. The 14th annual Kicks for a Cure event is being held April 12–13. Event chairs are Kate and Brian Brownrigg and Kate and Dan Parker. Honorary chairs for the event are Angie and Sean Quinn.
