Joel Schultz has joined KPMG LLP as a Director in the Federal Tax Accounting Methods and Credit Services (AMCS) practice, which serves clients in KPMG’s Northern Heartland Gateway West cities of Minneapolis, Omaha, Lincoln, Kansas City, St. Louis and Des Moines. He will focus on leading and expanding the AMCS practice in the Northern Heartland Gateway West Business Unit.

Schultz has more than 13 years of experience, with deep industry expertise in federal and state research tax credits, Section 199 domestic production activities deduction, and fixed asset depreciation. Previously he served as a director at a Big Four accounting firm. Prior to that, he was a senior financial analyst at American Express Financial Advisors.

He earned a bachelor of science in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a master of science in taxation from Golden Gate University. Schultz is a certified CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of CPAs.
