Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation Appoints James Caraway as New Business Development Manager
The Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC), a partner of the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership (SelectGreaterOmaha.com), has appointed James Caraway as its new business development manager. On the job since December 14, 2015, Caraway is responsible for facilitating the creation of jobs and economic development opportunities for Sarpy County.
Prior to this appointment, Caraway served as an economic development assistant with the Vermillion Chamber and Economic Development Company. He was involved with the GO Topeka Economic Partnership before that.
In his new position, Caraway will focus on retaining existing businesses, attracting new businesses, creating new jobs and expanding current business and industry in Sarpy County. He will also:
• Participate in economic development activities and projects throughout the Greater Omaha region, including Douglas, Sarpy, Washington, Dodge and Pottawattamie counties.
• Develop relationships and maintain regular contact with prospects/leads generated through various recruitment activities.
• Assist with prospect community visits.
• Work with business retention and expansion projects as part of SCEDC’s overall business assistance strategy.
Caraway is a member of the International City/County Management Association. He holds a Master in Public Administration from the University of South Dakota-Vermillion.
