Hillcrest Country Estates, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), has named Jose Machuca executive director of the Grand Lodge, the final development phase of the 44-acre campus scheduled to open late 2014. Machuca relocated from Atlanta to join the Hillcrest team, and with more than 20 years in hotel management, he will lead the daily operations of the retirement community which includes independent living, assisted living, memory support and resort-style amenities. Most recently, Machuca was general manager for an Interstate Hotels & Resorts property in Atlanta where he was responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, focusing on enhancing the guest experience and exceeding guests’ expectations. Machuca has held numerous hotel management positions for brands such as Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, and Intercontinental Hotels over his 27-year career, in which he was recognized for excellence in guest service, management, and operational accomplishments.

The Grand Lodge will include 102 independent living apartments, 60 assisted living and memory support apartments, and a 32,000-square-foot Clubhouse featuring impressive amenities, ranging from a heated indoor saltwater pool and hot tub to a full-service salon and day spa.
