ENCAP Welcomes Meredith Metcalf as New Deputy Director
Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership (ENCAP; www.encapnebraska.org) has recently hired Meredith Metcalf as deputy director, a new position within ENCAP’s leadership team. “We are thrilled to welcome Meredith to the ENCAP team,” said Aaron Bowen, executive director. “Reducing the power of poverty in our community is no small task. The expertise she brings to the agency boosts our capacity to achieve results and grow our work.”
Metcalf grew up in Lincoln, and holds a Master’s in Social Work from Denver University, earned her Professional in Human Resources Certificate, and is bilingual in Spanish. She brings with her a decade of experience in the non-profit and for-profit arenas. She has worked with young people, victims of domestic violence, families, and refugees and immigrants. Metcalf is also an adjunct professor in the Sociology Department of Metro Community College, knows the grant development and management world well, and has extensive experience creating policies and operational improvements.
“I could not be more excited to get started,” said Metcalf. I see the deputy director role as the perfect blend of my passions for developing teams and systems, building community, and helping families change their lives for the better.”
ENCAP is a non-profit community based organization that has been providing social and human services to people facing poverty in Douglas and Sarpy Counties since 1965. For more information about programs and services, go to www.encapnebraska.org or facebook (@encapnebraska).
