Educare of Omaha, Inc. (www.educareomaha.org) recently named Associate Teacher Theresa Dodds as the 2023 Pam Buffett Teacher of the Year.
The Pam Buffett Teacher of the Year award recognizes a lead teacher, associate teacher or teacher aide employed by Educare of Omaha, Inc. Teaching is difficult, although rewarding work, and this award recognizes a teacher that goes above and beyond to provide outstanding high-quality early education in one of five Educare of Omaha, Inc. schools. Teachers are nominated and selected by their peers.
“Theresa’s co-workers describe her as a team player, a lifelong learner and patient. She started her career with us at Educare Omaha at Kellom over 20 years ago,” Educare of Omaha, Inc. Executive Director Rafel O. Hart said. “Her dedication to children and the community is evident, and we are excited to name her the 2023 Pam Buffett Teacher of the Year.”
Educare of Omaha, Inc. prepares children and families for elementary school. At Educare schools, teachers interact with children to develop and reach individual social-emotional and cognitive goals. On-site health aides provide health screenings and referrals. All meals, snacks, diapers and other basic needs are provided for during school hours. Educare of Omaha, Inc. serves over 600 children ages zero to five years and their families annually at five early learning schools located in North and South Omaha and a home visitation program.
