Douglas County Welcomes New Emergency Communications Director David Sleeter

Douglas County would like to welcome its new Emergency Communications Director, David Sleeter, who started December 5, 2016. The Wisconsin Rapids, WI native previously worked as the director of 911 communications for Rock County, Wisconsin from 1995 until his retirement in 2013.

With nearly 30 years of public safety experience including law enforcement and jail administration, Sleeter is a veteran when it comes to understanding emergency communications. He’s eager to bring his experience to Douglas County and help facilitate the technology upgrades at the 911 Center made possible by Douglas County voters and the passing of the $45 million public safety bond issue. “If you look at what’s being developed and tackled here, it’s impressive,” Sleeter said. “Staying up-to-date with technology is a challenge that 911 centers across the country are dealing with. I’m looking forward to working with all of the public safety agencies in and around Douglas County.”
