The Community Foundation for Western Iowa (givewesterniowa.org) is pleased to announce the appointment of new board member, Sheila Jacobs, retired healthcare administrator and community leader. Jacobs joined the 13-member board comprised of dedicated community members and leaders committed to improving the lives of all residents in western Iowa by supporting and stimulating donor-driven philanthropy. Jacobs began her three-year term with the Community Foundation and attended her first board meeting in November 2023, with the option to serve a maximum of three terms.

“On behalf of the entire board of directors and staff, we are delighted that Sheila is joining our board during such a fundamental time at the Community Foundation,” said Donna Dostal, President and CEO of the Community Foundation for Western Iowa. “Sheila brings a wealth of leadership experience from her time spent managing out-patient care clinics in the Omaha metro, as well as her passion and dedication serving on several area boards and committees. We are looking forward to her leadership on our Board of Directors and are confident of her meaningful impact on the Community Foundation’s future.”

Sheila and her husband, Greg, reside in Council Bluffs. They enjoy boating, golfing, traveling and spending time with their family – including their three children and three grandchildren who all live locally.
